It’s that time of year again! Seniors are preparing to graduate and land their first post-college jobs, and current students are lining up their internships for the summer and next academic year. Career fairs are a great place to network and get in front of the right people, but if you haven’t been to one before, it’s hard to know what to expect.  Here are some of our top tips for career fair success that you can use at this Wednesday's on-campus career fair.

Research
Be prepared! Know something about each company you want to approach. Know some possible positions you are interested in. You’ll impress employers if you know something about the company.

Resumes
Have an updated resume with you that is free of spelling and grammar errors. Make the extra effort to print out your resume on professional resume paper.

Dress to Impress
You wouldn’t wear jeans to an interview, so don’t wear them to the career fair! Make a great first impression by dressing the part.

Interviewing
Have questions prepared and be ready to answer questions about why you are interested in a particular company. They may want to do an informal interview with you on the spot. Be prepared to sell your skills and talents!

Follow-Up
Make sure to get each recruiter’s business card and follow up with a quick thank you note or email. You can definitely connect with them on like LinkedIn and by using the guide of contact information in this packet!
