Library Conduct Policies
The BSC Library is intended to be a quiet place for study and research. In addition to compliance with all other BSC policies, individuals using or visiting the BSC Library must comply with the following library conduct policies:
- Conversations should be kept extremely quiet, and individuals must conduct themselves in a quiet manner. Loud or disruptive conversations or behaviors will not be tolerated within the Library.
- Cell phone use is not permitted anywhere in the Library. Ringers should be turned off.
- When using headphones, the volume should be low enough so that no one else can hear.
- Food is not permitted in the Library.
- Library computers and printers are for academic use only.
- Children and other guests of Bay State College students must be supervised at all times in the Library. Guests may use library computers only if no students are waiting.
- Individuals are required to promptly exit the library at closing time or when directed by Library, security, or BSC College staff.
- The Library is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.
- Library borrowing privileges and remote access to electronic databases are intended strictly for use by current BSC students, staff, and faculty.
- All circulating library materials must be properly checked out to be removed from the Library.
- Permission must be obtained from the Librarian before posting flyers, taking pictures, or filming in the Library.
- All Library staff and users should be treated with respect.
- All Library property, materials, and equipment should be treated with respect.
- Library staff reserves the right to ask any individual violating these policies or acting in any inappropriate manner disruptive to study and research to leave the Library.
