Career Fast Facts
- According to hiring managers, applicants frequently walk into an interview unprepared.
- About 80% of jobs are found by networking - not on job boards.
- Many job seekers make the same three common resume and cover letter mistakes.

How will you master these and other important career skills? Two words: Career Services.

According to Forbes, only 29% of college students use their school's career office, even though employers say it's the single easiest and most impactful thing a student can do to ensure they find a good job when they graduate. At Bay State College, we make it easy (and fun!) to work with the career office. Here are some things you can look forward to in the fall.

Career Opportunities Fair

September 14th 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
Connect with local employers in your career field who need part-time workers during the school year. Make connections that will benefit your career now and in the future.

Career Corner

Most Wednesdays from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
Connect with a career coach in the Commons to get advice on any career-related topic. No appointment, no hassle - just stop by.

Career Workshops

Thirty minutes - that's it! Learn to write a resume, create a cover letter, master an interview or conduct an effective job search. Workshops happen regularly; look out for a published schedule this fall.

Job Search Boot Camp

Intense. Effective. Twice a semester, we offer a 2-hour workshop where you not only learn effective job search techniques, you actually practice them. Check back for the next boot camp in early October!
