Two Great Events on the Calendar for Entertainment Management Program

Image

If you’re not keeping up with what the Entertainment Management department is up to this fall, you’re missing out! Not only are they putting on some great events, they’re doing these events to give back to the community.

Here at Bay State College, we call it Service Learning. The faculty and students work with community organizations to design collaborative projects that address community issues and that allow students to develop and apply academic and critical thinking skills.

Programs all across the College are adapting Service Learning as part of their curriculum, but Entertainment Management has a few this fall that others can be a part of.

Music in Motion – November 23rd

Entertainment Practicum students, with help from instructors from the Boston Ballet, are hosting two adaptive dance workshops.

The first one offered, Workshop for the Exceptional, is for anyone who is 12+ year old with disabilities.  Anyone who takes part in this class can expect 45 minutes of fun and dance.

The second workshop offered, Mindful Movement, is for dance instructors who would like to learn new tips and tricks on how to have an adaptive dance class at their own studios

The Sound of Art Benefit Concert – December 2nd

This annual event is one that we have come to look forward to every year.  Our Entertainment Management students host a benefit concert at the Brighton Music Hall.  This year, the concert will benefit Artists for Humanity, and will feature For the Year, Bron Don, Quiet Island, and Gretchen & The Pickpockets.

Students will produce the show from beginning to end – tickets, booking, lighting, etc.
