From assessing breaches in cyber security to analyzing virtual crime scenes, the digital forensics field offers rapidly evolving and expanding opportunities. If you’re interested in studying at the intersection of computer science and criminal forensics, you’ll want to consider Bay State College’s Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics.
Digital forensics is considered a branch of forensic science and involves the recovery, analysis, and preservation of computer-related evidence, often in support of cyber fraud or crime.
Beyond the specifics of the Digital Forensics Concentration, Bay State’s Criminal Justice program provides an integrated course of study in science and humanities.
“We’ve created a robust program that encourages both the broad study of security issues and what they mean to our global society, as well as the highly technical training needed to stay ahead in today’s digital security landscape,” explains Professor William Morrissette. “The threats that digital forensic experts face are literally advancing every minute, and that requires an agile and innovative learning program.”
At Bay State College, you’ll study under top-notch professors with real-world experience. You’ll train on the latest industry-specific tools, including a state-of-the-art digital forensics product called XRY, developed by MSAB, the global leader in forensic technology for mobile device examination. Bay State College students earn a three-year certification from MSAB in XRY Logical for mobile digital forensics, which enables investigators to access and recover data from mobile phones and other devices right at the crime scene.
