From Reno to Boston - Physical Therapist Assistant Student Feature

Moving from Reno, Nevada to Boston, MA is quite the change, but that’s exactly what Physical Therapist Assistant Student Kaitlyn M. did last August, just one week before that start of classes at Bay State College.

Kaitlyn’s journey to Bay State actually began at the University of Nevada Reno where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Community Health. And after working for years in a clinical setting, both inpatient and outpatient, she decided to look into DPT and PTA programs. Her search led her across the country to Bay State College, and despite the weather this winter, she’s been happy with her decision.

“The program is definitely challenging,” says Kaitlyn. “But our instructors keep on top of us.  They make sure we’re understanding the material and give us the resources we need to be successful.”

She also attributes much of her success in the classroom to her fellow classmates.

“We spend so much time together that we’ve become really close.  We all have different strengths, so it’s nice to be able to help each other as we’re learning and practicing all these new skills.”

Having just completed her first year, Kaitlyn is currently working this summer at her clinical placement, an out-patient sports medicine clinic in Quincy, MA. We wish her the best of luck!
