Eat Your Way Through the City of Boston With Adeline

My name is Adeline Esther. I’m an international student in Bay State College’s Foundation Year program and am originally from Indonesia. Yes, I plan to study hard while at Bay State but when I’m not in class, I can’t help but eat my way through Boston! I want to experience the diverse food and blending of cultures throughout the city. Why not start with dessert?

I went to North End with one thing in mind: Mike’s Pastry. I heard A LOT of people was saying how good it is and I was so curious and knew I needed to try it no matter what. Mike’s Pastry being in the North End (Little Italy) is definitely a plus- it’s a beautiful part of the city and is definitely the right place for sweet treats.

CANNOLI and LOBSTER TAIL are two of the favorites. I tried the Chocolate Chips Cannoli and it had creamy, unfamiliar filling but was delicious! I am not an expert in Italian desserts so I couldn’t judge, but it didn’t disappoint me at all. After devouring both, I was amazed- they achieved the balance between creamy-but-not-too-creamy and sweet-but-not-too-sweet. The texture was very smooth and in a way—a little bit milky—which was excellent.

Dessert first... so where to next?

Do you have any recommendations for Adeline?
