Production Assistant - LiveNation
What inspired you to study what you did while at Bay State College?
I have had several family members that have been really involved and successful in the music industry, and I wanted to follow suit.
What did you enjoy most about your education at Bay State College?
The most beneficial part of my education at Bay State was the hands on experience in the classrooms and the faculty who all had great experience in the industry.
Did you have a favorite class/instructor?
This is like asking a parent who their favorite child is! Professor White, Dr. Preston, and Professor Viscardi in the EM department all take first place in my book. They’re a great team and make class interesting.
What do you currently do now/how did you get there?
Currently, I work as a Production Assistant for LiveNation and manage two regional bands that travel throughout the Northeast. In this industry, getting the job is all about hard work and networking. The connections you make with people in the industry will take you far – it’s one big community.
How did Bay State College prepare you for your career?
Things are always changing in the entertainment industry. Bay State College gave me a great foundation and taught me that learning about the industry is an ongoing process. Internships are also a part of the curriculum, giving me more hands on experience even before graduation.
What is a piece of advice you can give current students?
Opportunity isn't given to you. You have to get out there and earn it!
What role (if any) did Career Services play in your success?
Besides helping me pull together a resume, they also helped me obtain one of the coolest gigs in Boston. They made the connection that allowed me to serve as Production Manager at the Boston Music Awards two years in a row.
Do you miss Bay State College?
Some of my best memories are from Bay State College, but I’m really happy with where my life is at right now. I’m looking forward to what’s next!
