An Exciting Year Ahead for Fashion Students
Thanks to new Fashion Department Chair, Donna-Marie Cecere, for taking the time to update us on what our students have to look forward to this year!
The Fashion Department is already in full swing this semester and looking forward to some wonderful events in the upcoming months. Our merchandising students recently collaborated with the Bay State Bookstore, and expertly arranged and merchandised their windows with fabulous back to school items. What a great way to practice and show off those skills acquired in their Visual Merchandising class. Professor York provided guidance and inspiration and the results are perfect. Many thanks to the students who participated: Briana Evans, Dimanne Mota, Amy Palmacci, Samantha Ramos, and Rachael Rockwell.
A New York day trip has been scheduled for Friday October 24th with planned visits to New York based Designers, Production and Trend Forecasting Companies. There will also be an opportunity for Design students to hunt for the latest and most inspiring fabrics, trims and notions at the famous Mood Fabric Store.
In the development stages are plans for an International Haute Couture Class where students will have the opportunity to study abroad and soak up the fabulous Parisian culture as well as visit legendary ateliers, couture techniques specialists, and famous landmarks.
Our end of the year Fashion Exhibit will be a spectacular presentation of student work, both design and merchandising, at the Copley Place Mall...talk about exposure and excitement!
We're looking forward to posting on the blog regularly to update the Bay State College community on all we have going on - stay tuned!
