Health Insurance
Bay State College is pleased to announce that for the 2019-2020 Academic Year we have teamed up with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBS) and University Health Plans (UHP) to provide health insurance coverage for our students.
2018-2019 Annual Waiver Or Enrollment Requests will be accepted from July 17, 2019 - September 13, 2019
The Bay State College Health Insurance Plan includes a strong nationwide Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) network of providers. Highlights of the Student Health Insurance Plan include no deductible, $25 office visit copay, $150 ER copay, no copay for labs and x-rays, and 100% coverage for preventative care and hospitalizations. Details about the Student Health Insurance Plan can be found by selecting the link to Benefit Information.
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts requires that any degree-seeking student enrolled ¾ time (9 credit hours/semester) or more be covered by a comprehensive health insurance program. Bay State College meets this requirement using an independent insurance carrier. Students already covered by a comparable health insurance program must submit a Health Waiver/ Enrollment Form showing proof of insurance each year the student is enrolled at the College. Students that do not have health insurance will be charged the annual premium and enrolled in the College sponsored plan. Premiums are set each spring.
PLEASE NOTE: Free Care is not an acceptable form of health insurance for students enrolled at the College.
All students must either waive or enroll in the student sponsored accident and sickness insurance plan. To complete the waiver/enrollment form, please click here.
