Learning Objectives
Through the Bachelor Degree in Entertainment Management, you will:
- Recognize the entertainment industry as a socially networked, relationship-driven entity and be able to demonstrate your skills in devising and executing original entertainment industry initiatives.
- Establish and demonstrate your skills in business disciplines connected with the entertainment field, including finance, accounting and marketing.
- Explore, synthesize and evaluate the various theories and various levels of management, best practices, and entertainment industry standards.
- Identify, incorporate, and evaluate the role of technology and its use in managing and conducting business in an increasingly global and complex entertainment industry.
- Analyze and assess demographic data as it relates to the different subfields of the entertainment industry, including targeting potential audiences for an entertainment production.
- Demonstrate your critical thinking and assessment skills in analyzing issues that will bring changes to the entertainment industry in the 21st century, both domestically and globally.
- Develop, refine and appraise your understanding of legal and ethical issues, rights and remedies as they relate to contemporary entertainment business practices.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Baccalaureate Degree in Entertainment Management at Bay State College is to provide students with a rich and diverse educational experience that balances studies in contemporary best practices, tenets and ethics of the entertainment industry, a generalized business curriculum, and traditional general education course work. Students will develop strong interpersonal communication skills as well as critical and analytical thinking skills. Students also will be prepared for a variety of careers in this increasingly global and complex entertainment industry.
