Taylor G.

Hospitality Management Student

Taylor G. has always known she wanted to be in the hospitality industry. Her family was lucky enough to take yearly trips where she was introduced to the excitement that comes along with traveling and the atmosphere around the hotel lifestyle.

Back in her hometown of Plymouth, MA, Taylor was a senior in high school working on her biggest task of the year- searching for the right college.  Her college wish list included a location in the city and a strong business program.  It wasn’t until she spoke with a Bay State College admissions representative at a college fair that she realized she could combine a business education with her serious interest in the hospitality industry.

Now that she’s in her second year at Bay State, Taylor is happy with the real-world experience the Hospitality program has provided her. She is currently part of the Manager in Training program at Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge, MA where she has worked for the past year.  Her experience there has opened her eyes to all of the opportunities that exist within the hospitality industry.

“I have worked in many different areas within the hotel and met so many interesting people,” says Taylor. “My goal is to someday be General Manager overseeing the operations of a luxury hotel.”

The support Taylor has received at Bay State College has made her past two years a positive experience.  “The faculty members are around to help you through your courses as an individual, not just another student in a class,” says Taylor.  “They know what courses will challenge me and help me pick my schedule based on what is best for me in the long run.  It’s not the type of place where you get lost in the crowd.”
