Diana C.
Nursing Graduate
It’s not only about the learning process here—it’s also about working with your classmates. You get the sense that everyone is part of one large team.
It took Diana C. just two weeks to realize that the choice she made was the right one. “Everybody was so friendly and so helpful that I just said to myself, ‘Oh this is the right place. Here is where I want to be,’” she recalls.
‘Here’ is Bay State’s new Associate Degree Nursing Program, where students work together closely in a fast-paced program that provides state-of-the-art facilities, including a dedicated nursing suite, smart boards, and high-fidelity simulation room. Even though she already has her B.A. in Nutrition from another college, Diana saw Bay State’s Nursing Program as a great career fit.
“Nutrition and nursing are a really good combination, because very few nurses have dietician skills,” she says. “I was really impressed with the high-tech facilities at Bay State. And, our clinical placements at good local hospitals like University and Mt. Auburn are amazing, compared to other nursing degree programs.”
While she admits the program is “pretty intense,” the close relationship with her classmates makes all the difference. “As a group, we bonded instantly,” she says. “No one wants anyone to fall behind in class, so everyone helps each other. It’s those things that make you feel like you’re home.”
“When I first called Admissions, they were really friendly and responded to all my questions right away. There was always someone who was there.”
