Global Assessment Certificate Program

The Global Assessment Certificate™ (GAC) program is an internationally recognized university preparation program for students who do not have English as their first language. It was developed by ACT in conjunction with universities and accrediting bodies around the world to prepare students for college and university study in English-speaking countries.

The GAC is a university preparation program that provides students with the academic knowledge, independent learning skills, English language skills and confidence to enter and successfully complete a bachelor’s degree at university.

GAC Program Credit

Bay State College is one of the GAC program’s Pathway colleges. Bay State College accepts credit toward a bachelor’s degree for the following courses. GAC graduates are eligible to apply for available scholarships. Bay State College will provide up to 36 courses of credit exemptions / advanced standing into its undergraduate programs. Admissions Requirements

Bay State College is pleased to recognize the Global Assessment Certificate (GAC) Program as satisfying admission requirements for Bay State College. 

Specifically, these admission requirements are:

  • Minimum Overall GAC Grade Point Average of 2.0.
  • English level: Minimum grade, GAC Level 3 English modules / IELTS / TOEFL        
  • Official TOEFL score of 513 or higher on the paper exam, a 183 on the CBT or 65 on the ibT, or a 6.0 on the IELTS if native language is not English (or language school affiliate equivalent).
  • Minimum ACT score (if required): 18 (ACT writing subtest: 6)
